About Christian

Christian Andreu-von Euw founded Tech.Law after twelve years of high-stakes technology litigation at Morrison & Foerster, a premier international law firm. He continues to represent people and businesses in complex technology disputes, but is now able to provide his clients with more personal hands-on representation.
Christian is a second-career lawyer who obtained an engineering degree from Harvey Mudd College and spent years designing cutting-edge electronics before deciding to become a lawyer. He also teaches Data Security and Privacy Law at the University of San Diego. This diverse background gives him a unique ability to understand, simplify, and explain complex issues–and he has used this ability to obtain victories from judges, juries, and arbitrators.
Christian loves hard problems, loves helping his clients, and absolutely loves winning. He works hard to understand your business and your needs, and to find the strategy that solves your problems. Sometimes that means leaving no stone unturned. More often, it means a targeted strategy that is tailored to your risks, your goals, and your budget. And if your ideal strategy is better suited to another lawyer, he will be the first to tell you.
Practice Focus and Technical Expertise
Christian focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on patent, trade secret, data security, and copyright litigation. He has represented electronics, biotechnology, and software companies in disputes involving intellectual property, antitrust, business interference, and other issues in state and federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. The technologies at-issue in his engagements have included artificial intelligence, genetically engineered crops, database design, business software, immunoassays, web design, high-speed photolithography, digital imaging, glucose monitoring sensors, transistor design, immuno-neurology, and 3G, 4G, 5G, and WiFi communications.
Before becoming an attorney, Christian worked as an electrical engineer in both the United States and Germany. He designed software and electronics for the telecommunications and broadcast video industries and was awarded U.S. Patent No. 7,120,363 for his work in free space optical communications. His technical experience spans a range of technologies that include software design, digital video, electro-optics, optical sensors, programmable logic, controllers for optical systems, and analog and digital circuit card design.
Christian also has an active pro-bono practice. He has successfully defended victims of domestic abuse in both civil and criminal cases, stopped an unjustified eviction, and obtained asylum or related protections for political activists from Algeria, Zambia, and Haiti. He currently represents a Mexican national who exposed an Iranian influence campaign and is seeking protection from Iranian agents that have threatened his life.
